TIMESIGHT Systems has announced the support of StarDot IP Cameras for use with its Video Lifecycle Management (VLM)-capable video surveillance appliances.
According to the company, the combined solution provides security personnel the ability to capture and manage megapixel-quality information and retain it longer in a smaller, morecost-effective storage footprint.
Currently, TimeSight Systems offers the only video surveillance product that utilizes Video Lifecycle Management (VLM), which is the practice of continuously reducing the cost of storing surveillance data over time.
According to TimeSight, this technology allows users to reduce the size of stored video over time as video becomes older and less relevant, according to user-defined business rules, based on its value and ability to protect against risk without sacrificing security or compliance.
To date, TimeSight appliances support six of StarDot's NetCam models with resolutions ranging from 1-5 megapixels.
Vance Kozik, Product Manager, StarDot Technologies, said StarDot's cameras provide up to fifteen times the resolution of even the best analog CCTV cameras.
TimeSight said the combination satisfies customers' demands for high resolution images at fast frame rates, while allowing them to better determine their needs for how surveillance video is treated during the entire course of its useful life and reduce their storage investment.
