AXIS Communications and Australian surf website SURFit.com has launched an iPhone application which enables users to check the surf conditions.
With the lifestyle application, users are able to remotely control Axis’ high definition IP cameras and interact with the surf cameras by panning and zooming to check beaches on 3G and WiFi. Users are able to make the camera remotely pan, tilt or zoom to the area they want to check, providing a detailed view of the breaking wave.
According to Axis Communications, its network cameras are set up along Sydney’s beaches such as its AXIS P5534 Network Camera at Bondi Beach which complies with the SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) HDTV standards in resolution, color representation and frame rate.
