SRT announces FIPS 140-2 certification and version 3.0 upgrade to DMZedge server

INNOVATOR in secure file transfer and document collaboration software South River Technologies (SRT) today announced a significant upgrade to its DMZedge Server with the release of version 3.0.

DMZedge Server protects business networks from security breaches such as network intrusion, hacking and other attacks.

DMZedge Server, when used in conjunction with SRT's Managed File Transfer Solution, Titan MFT, complies with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology for U.S. government computer systems.

FIPS is designed to help ensure the security of information stored in disparate systems, and due to SRT’s base of customers at all levels of government, compliance with FIPS will enable increased adoption by federal agencies.

Michael Ryan, co-founder and CEO of SRT, said there is a mandate from businesses, government agencies and universities about securing confidential information and DMZedge achieves multiple layers of security, enabling both encrypted transfer of the data and protection of the internal network.

The release also adds support for 64-bit versions of Windows, the emerging standard for server operating systems.

The 64-bit edition of DMZedge Server runs as a native 64-bit application on Windows Servers. According to the company, 64-bit DMZedge Server, combined with the 64-bit processing power of Windows Server, provides a powerful, scalable and secure solution for high-volume enterprise implementations.
