AUTHENTEC today launched a series of smart sensor hardware and software solutions designed specifically for new consumer notebook PCs and netbooks.
According to the company, the new offering includes the first product in a new family of multi-function fingerprint sensors incorporating LED drivers, lighted LED packaging options, and its new TrueSuite PC client application software.
AuthenTec added the complete fingerprint solution has been optimized for Microsoft’s forthcoming Windows 7 operating system (OS), as well as the new Windows Biometric Framework (WBF) integrated within the OS.
According to the company, the new consumer notebook/netbook solution is centered around the Company’s new smart sensors for the PC market, including the newly introduced AES1660, and recently announced TrueSuite PC client software.
Key features include integrated LED drivers for multiple lighted LED packaging options, TrueNav cursor and menu navigation, multiple battery-friendly operating modes, internal current limiter, voltage regulator and clock generator and BGA packaging.
