Cisco announces acquisition of ScanSafe

CISCO has announced its intent to acquire ScanSafe, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) web security solutions provider.

Cisco says the acquisition of ScanSafe will assist the company in building a borderless network security architecture combing network and cloud-based services for advanced security enforcement.

According to Cisco, the shift will expand the company’s portfolio offering superior on-premise, hosted, and hybrid-hosted web security solutions.

Cisco claims their acquisition with ScanSafe will demonstrate the company’s commitment to security and its ability to use its financial strength to quickly capture key market transitions through its build, buy, and partner strategy.
