ADT and iControl’s joint venture

ADT Security Services has announced a partnership with iControl Networks, an American venture-backed home security software and services company.

The joint venture is expected to develop a new interactive services solution to better protect homes and businesses.

By incorporating iControl’s next generation platform into ADT’s monitoring network, customers will eventually be able to remotely control their security systems via the internet from anywhere in the world.

The technology will allow customers to remotely arm and disarm their security system, lock and unlock doors, control heating and air conditioning and turn lights on or off.

In addition, the remote technology can allow users to help provide home health protection for the elderly and disabled, remotely view live video, event-driven video clips and pictures and receive text messages and e-mail notifications if incidents occur at the property.

ADT plans to announce additional partnerships over the next few months as the company continues to broaden its services.
